Periostin and fibrotic gene expression timelines after MI at infarct (MI) and remote zone (RZ). Cardiac tissue sections collected with the LCM system from MI-induced C57BL/6J female mice were analyzed for (A) periostin, (B) α-SMA and (C) Collagen type IA by qRT-PCR. Levels were normalized to healthy hearts (without MI). Gene levels, which were normalized to the HPRT housekeeping gene, are represented relative to the gene level of healthy hearts.
