Stimulation of IL-6 bioactivity in U373-MG cells by IL-6 family members. U373-MG cells were incubated with sIL-6R (100 ng/ml), OSM (10 ng/ml), LIF (50 ng/ml), CNTF (100 ng/ml) plus sCNTFR (100 ng/ml), and IL-11 (50 ng/ml) alone and in combination with TNF-α (50 ng/ml) for 24 hr, and supernatants were harvested and then analyzed for IL-6 activity as described in Materials and Methods.
