In the case of P0299917, similar profiles of virulence factor genes and colonization factors are observed, even though isolate P0299917_1 is genomically distinct (Fig. 1). In contrast P0299438 contains 3 different profiles of gene presence and absence that are congruent with the phylogenomic differences observed in Fig. 1. Isolates P0299438_4 and P0299438_10 form one group, P0299438_2 and P0299438_9 form a second group, and the remaining isolates from this subject with a similar profile form a third group.
