Initial configuration (Panel A) and final configuration (Panel B) of a 500 nm diameter EM2 liposome after 2(107) timesteps of mesoscopic simulation. The critical control parameter is the maximum local spontaneous curvature induced by the N-BAR domain density, as previously reported22 a value of 0.09 nm-1 is both consistent with atomistic simulations of N-BAR remodeling48 and predicts reticulated morphologies that are experimentally observed by EM. Each EM2 particle is rendered as a sphere.
