Time course (A) and concentration dependence (B) of GSH uptake in rat liver mitochondria. (A) Time course of GSH uptake. Mitochondria were incubated with 7.5 mM GSH, at each time point (0, 0.5, 1, 3, 5 min), the content of mitochondrial GSH was determined by HPLC. The line was drawn by a polynomial regression. (B) Concentration dependence of GSH uptake. Mitochondria were incubated with various concentrations of GSH (2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15 mM) for 0.5 min. The line was drawn by use of the Michaelis–Menten equation and regression. Values represent means ± SEM (n = 5–8).
