Histological verification of cannula placements in the LA. (A) Rats were implanted bilaterally with 22-gauge stainless steel guide cannulae that terminated 1.5 mm above the target location in the LA. The target location coordinates, taken from Paxinos and Watson (2004), were +5.7 anteroposterior, ±5.3 mediolateral, and +2.0 mm dorsoventral with reference to inter-aural zero. Locations of cannula tip placements where infusions were delivered are indicated with diamonds. Numbers indicate anterior-posterior distance(mm) from inter-aural zero.
