Localization of rCD59-APT542 in the eye of laser-treated mice. C57BL/6 mice received rat CD59-APT542 or PBS at day 7 post-laser. Animals were sacrificed at day 9 after laser treatment, and eyes were processed for paraffin sectioning. Sections were stained with mouse monoclonal anti-rat CD59 (6D1). This antibody (6D1) recognizes rat CD59 only and does not cross-react with endogenous murine CD59. Strong staining for exogenously administered CD59-APT542 was detected on RPE and choroid in the area of no-laser injury (A) as well in the laser-injured area (B) of CD59-APT542 injected mice. No staining for CD59-APT542 was detected in PBS-injected mice (C). No staining was observed in the control sections stained without the primary antibody (D). Objective magnification: ×63.
