Effect of mecamylamine on lever responses maintained by i.v. nicotine infusions. In the self-administration test sessions conducted 30 min after s.c. administration of mecamylamine, responses at the active lever resulted in delivery of nicotine infusion and its associated presentation of the visual cue, whereas responding at the inactive lever had no consequence. The number of responses was presented as the mean±SEM in each group (n=8). *p<0.05 different from vehicle.
