Effects of actinomycin D on IL-4-induced IL-6 expression. HAEC were pre-treated for 1 h with 5 μg/ml of actinomycin D, an inhibitor of RNA transcription, before exposure to 10 ng/ml of IL-4 for 4 h (A) or 16 h (B). The mRNA and protein expression levels of IL-6 were determined by real-time RT-PCR (A) and ELISA (B).
