εPKC-mediated neuroprotection prevented by inhibition of ERK1/2 and COX-2 activation. 10 μM PD98059 was treated during 1 h of εPKC-activating peptide treatment (ψεRACK at 100 nM) and 48 h of reperfusion, or NS-398 was treated for 24 h of reperfusion prior to ischemia after 1 h of εPKC-activating peptide treatment. Then, OGD was done, and 48 h later, LDH assay was measured for cell death.
