The PHQ-9 is an internationally used self-assessment scale for depressive symptoms. It consists of nine questions, with a total score ranging from 0 to 27. Participant labels were established based on the clinical diagnosis made by physicians. PHQ-9 scores were collected as complementary quantitative information for characterizing depressive symptoms and were not used as the basis for participant grouping.
