Southern blotting analyses of HSV-1 ICP22 and UL13 mutant viral genomes. (A) Viral DNA preparations from WT strain (KOS1.1)-infected (lane 1) or d22-lacZ-infected (lane 2) Vero cells were digested with BamHI and subjected to Southern blotting. The filter was probed with 32P-labeled pBamN DNA, which has an insert of the WT HSV-1 BamHI N fragment.
